Hi, and thank you for being here! My name is Giuliana, born and raised in the South of Italy, and currently living in New York City. One day I decided to keep a sketchbook, draw and paint whatever came to mind. With no specific goal, no pressure, nobody was ever meant to see its pages.

I did show something to people, but only what i thought was "acceptable", what seems to "fit" more. It was a period of many flowers...

And don't get me wrong, flowers are beautiful, endless font of inspiration: the shapes the colors!! wow! But it wasn't the subject (or at least not the only one) I would pick if I was drawing only for myself. 

Since when i was a teenager I've been drawing these people, they were really doodles of people, I never went to art school, I had no clue how to draw a person, but i liked comics and art in general, and i liked reading, writing and keeping a journal. So i would use these doodle to describe what happened during the day instead of writing it all. 

With time the doodles evolved, changed, I started using watercolors (more getting obsessed with watercolors, such a magical medium :D), and I named one of these people Franky. It was a funny name for a weird looking sketch and, slowly all of them became Frankies, different versions of the same thing, just someone trying to figure things out...they all leave in a more or less fantastical worlds, some of them are mermaids, some birds or fishes, etc, etc

And then the day arrived, I just woke up and it felt like the only thing I could do to stay true to myself and my doodles, it was the time for all the Frankies to be let free, out in the world for everyone to see!

Yup, I stopped showing flowers only, and let all the whimsical out. It was scary, still is, but I cannot explain the feeling of seeing people reaction. Many, many people embraced all the Frankies and were happy to see them around. My weird looking doodles are out and people like them. Not all the people, but that is ok, I think? It's just about sharing... and knowing that we are all a bit of a Franky, cranky at times, surprised, curious, bored, bothered and so on...but never afraid to meet with a mermaid or have a chat with a wise bird, right?

Anyhow, STICKERS! I love stickers, and I keep journaling, but often don't have the time to doodle, so I thought why not try to make stickers out of my paintings, so I can always have drawings and paintings on my journal! and there we are. Every single sticker is from my sketchbooks, all original Franky stuff, that I am so happy to share in what i think is one of the easiest way: stickers!!!
